Oscar Galindez and Nina Kraft took the titles at the 2575 Triathlon Championships at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay resort and here are a sample of images from the race.

Distances were 750 meter swim in brisk 65 degree water, a relatively flat but not easy 20k bike and a scenic 5k golf course run.

The Elite wave awaits the start at Club Med Sandpiper Bay.

This guy charged into the lead for a while

But Oscar Galindez was coming and pushing hard.

Galindez rode like a man possessed and also recorded the fastest bike split

When Galindez started the 5k run he roughly had a 30 second advantage.

The hard charging Santiago Ascenco just could not close the gap.

Manny Huerta ran to third place.

Club Med Academy coach Tommy Allore had a tough battle in hand but charged ahead to take third in the Elite amateur race.

Nina Kraft was not happy with her race but she won uncontested.

Doni Escoffie on the way to 6th in the Elite amateur race.

The next female to come to the finish line was Sandra Forrero but her time was beaten by another age grouper.

Here comes the champion Oscar Galindez. At the end he had a 1:16 advantage.
