1000Lakes SwimRun in Germany

Just about 2 hours outside of Berlin, Germany there are thousands of lakes, and in October of 2016 a SwimRun event will be held in this beautiful area.

The area is called Mecklenburger Seenplatte and the total race distance is in the 48km range, with just about 10km of it swimming but spread out over 14 different swim segments with runs of various lengths peppered throughout.

The event takes place on Sunday, October 23 at 8:30am with a race briefing the day before at 5pm. The temperatures should be reasonably mild for Europe at that time of year, and water temperatures are expected to be around 13 degrees Celsius (55F).

The 1000Lakes SwimRun will be the first qualifier for the 2017 ÖTILLÖ SwimRun World Championships in Sweden. 8 teams total will be able to grab a slot: 3 male teams, 3 mixed teams, and 2 female teams.

Registration will open today (as we speak) and you better jump on it or you will miss out.
