2013 Ironman Melbourne

Eneko Llanos and Corinne Abraham took the wins at the 2013 Urban Hotel Group Asia Pacific Ironman Championships in Melbourne, Australia and here is very diverse picture gallery from the race. Sadly though we have no images of female champion Corinne Abraham, but we will reach out to her for a chat.

A few of the Pros were checking out the water conditions early in the morning.

The lead group was quite large early on, but fell slowly apart.

Luke Bell was among those pushing the early pace and he paid for it later.

At the beginning of the second bike loop Marino Vanhoenacker put on the afterburners and pulled away to a 5 minute plus lead.

Eneko Llanos was always there when it mattered, and he did a lot of work on the bike.

Jordan Rapp was slowly moving up on the bike from nowhere to 7th position.

Many folks were surprised to see Natascha Badmann at the front of the race for a long time.

Typically Caroline Steffen is being chased, but in Melbourne she was the one chasing.

Amanda Stevens spent a good amount of time near the front and ended up in 6th place.

The penalty tents were quite busy in Melbourne.

Clayton Fettell was first out of the water and among the first on the run, but he faded to 12th place.

Craig Alexander and Eneko Llanos were chasing hard to reel in Marino Vanhoenacker.

Another Aussie who set the pace on the bike was Tim Reed, but he did not finish the day.

Crowie could not hold the pace of Eneko LLanos and ended up in third place.

A 2:52:34 marathon brought Jordan Rapp from 7th place after the bike to fourth place.

Chris Legh impressed with his 5th place finish.
