Raphael, Viellehner top Challenge Regensburg

Jan Raphael of Germany and Julia Viellehner of Germany prevailed at Challenge Regensburg.

Raphael combined a 3rd-best 50:01 swim, a race-best 4:33:38 bike split, and a 4th-best 3:01:11 marathon to finish in 8:27:27 with a 4:03 margin of victory over Dr. Chris Fischer of Denmark and 12:25 over 3rd-place finisher Matic Modic of Germany.

Sebastian Bleisteiner of Germany finished 4th in 8:52:13, and Konstantin Häcker of Germany took 5th in 8:53:32.

Julia Viellehner of Germany swam a women’s 6th-best 1:01:18 split, rode a women’s 4th-best 5:24:18 bike split, and ran a women’s-best 3:08:46 marathon to finish in 9:37:32 with a 7:32 margin of victory over Erika Csomor of Hungary and 10:45 over 3rd-place finisher Silvia Felt of Germany.

Nicole Woysch of Germany placed 4th in 9:59:44, and Tamsyn Hayes of New Zealand took 5th in 10:09:07.
