What We Have Noticed: HAWK, blueseventy ...

Written by: Herbert Krabel

This week we noticed the very cool and interesting HAWK drill drive mobile, a new line of swimwear from the folks at blueseventy and a new t-shirt from Endurance Conspiracy. We stumble onto new gadgets, projects, prototypes and events on a regular basis and then try to share them with our viewers. Some of these items come to us via press releases, but most of it is truly stuff we actually happened to notice in day-to-day life. So enjoy.

Hawk

What: The HAWK mobile below was created by the HAWK Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst Fakultät Gestaltung in Hildesheim, Germany and runs on a cordless drill drive. Yes, a cordless drill. Built for the Handcraft Now drill drive competition, the HAWK was printed on an American Stratasys 900mc 3D printer. With a file size of only 37.5mb it easily fit on a USB drive and it took 10 days to print it out. Plus the user can actually modify the size of the vehicle prior to printing to make sure it is a good fit. That will surely change how prototypes and maybe even production models are created. Bike manufacturers are you listening? Wheels, cordless drill etc for the HAWK are easily commercially available.

blueseventy swimwear

What: With blueseventy’s brand being all about the water, and 70% of the Earth being covered by it, it was only a question of time for them to come out with swimwear. Modeled here by Olympian swimmers Caroline Burckle and Darian Townsend, a whole new line of jammers, briefs and swimsuits will be available to consumers later this summer.

Endurance Conspiracy Balloon Trip T

What: The Fit Shall Inherit The Earth is the theme of this Endurance Conspiracy t-shirt. With cool designs, Tony DeBoom’s company is creating quite a buzz, and he just recently won a Jack Johnson 2010 World Tour t-shirt and poster design competition.
