What We Have Noticed: Picky Bars ...

Written by: Herbert Krabel

In this week's edition of What We Have Noticed we look at the Picky Smooth Caffeinator bars, ride with World Champion Sven Nys, lust for a chocolate Brownlee, enjoy old school TT work and think somewhat fondly of Statler and Waldorf.

Picky Smooth Caffeinator bars
What: Picky bars started as a loving project of Lauren Fleshman for her husband Jesse Thomas and has now evolved into a nice business for these two fast and smart athletes. The dairy and gluten free bars are called Picky because Jesse Thomas who just finished 3rd at Escape from Alcatraz is apparently quite picky when it comes to bars. The Smooth Caffeinator with hazelnut and mocha madness is the newest item.

On the tail of Sven Nys

What: You may have imagined before what it would be like to follow 2013 UCI Cyclocross World Champion Sven Nys, and thanks to fellow Belgian Pro Jan Denuwelaere here is your opportunity to do exactly that. Enjoy 2 laps of the night time Cyclocross Masters race in Waregem, Belgium.

Chocolate Brownlee

What: To celebrate their recent signing of Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, the folks at Huub offered Chocolate Brownlees to folks who came to their booth at the recent Triathlon Show in London, UK. No word though about the taste of these brownies and if the Huub folks plan to bring them to other events.

Ole Ritter TT 1973 Giro

What: Back in the early 70s the support for athletes in major races was quite different compared to now and seeing the passionate and dedicated approach of Ole Ritter for the TT of the 1973 Giro D’Italia is quite fascinating. It is part of the Danish 1973 documentary "Stars and Watercarriers" by Jřrgen Leth.

Haters Gonna Hate t-shirt

What: As frequent forum members we all know that Haters Gonna Hate and this t-shirt is quite appropriate. But as far as grouchy haters go, Statler and Waldorf were at least amusing.
