We take a quick look at the 2013 Hed product line in Las Vegas. It includes some classics, some updates, and even a few exciting new product debuts.


Hed has many options in both carbon and aluminum wheels.

The big and bad H3 Deep is still offered for sale.

Hed is getting in to the custom color game – both in hubs and wheel decals.

Hed will offer a carbon clincher for 2013, dubbed the Vanquish. It stands at 60mm of rim depth, and features the usual wide Hed profile. They tell us that safety and braking heat considerations were top on the development priority list – along with being “equal or better” to the Jet in aerodynamics.

They feel confident in a reliable and safe wheel, and noted that it was surprisingly difficult to beat the Jet’s aerodynamic performance (even with the ability to make more complex shapes in carbon). Price is said to come in around $2,500 per pair. That’s not cheap, but certainly not the most expensive carbon clincher out there.

Disc brakes are quickly making their way in to the road and cyclocross scenes. Hed now offers a disc brake option for the aluminum clincher Ardennes, shown here.

They even have a tubular version that looks like a great all-purpose cyclocross wheel. There will also be a disc brake version of the carbon tubular Stinger 5 for 2013.

Hed now has several options in aerobars, including this aggressive dropped model for those who have long arms or prefer a very low position.

There is also a flat base bar for those who prefer it.

Hed also makes an aluminum drop bar and stem combination, called the GTO.
