The Tour de France starts tomorrow and as teams and athletes are getting ready for this big annual extravaganza we look closer at the Specialized S-Works Venge ViAS of Jakob Fuglsang of Team Astana. The Swiss born Dane 1.82m tall Fuglsang weighs 68kg and will ride in support of Vincenzo Nibali.
Race numbers are not yet on the bike but Fuglsang will be wearing #3 in the race.
When Specialized launched this new S-Works Venge ViAS, it really stunned onlookers as to how many details were put into this bike, including these cleverly integrated brakes.
With the front wheel slightly turned one can see the front brake setup much better.
A couple aero spacers under the stem bring Fuglsang into the proper position.
A custom mount allows Fuglsang to carry a camera in addition to his GPS head unit.
The Astana Team rides on Campagnolo Super Record 11 components.
Fuglsang is indeed a Dane, but the 30-year old was born in Geneva, Switzerland.
Having the brake integrated into the seat tube is very unique and distinctive and has not been done prior as far as I am aware.
Fuglsang rides 175mm cranks like many other European pros. Pedals are Look Keo Blade.
