A first look at the Look 796

At the 2015 Eurobike show we noticed this lean and mean Look 796 Monoblade, but some of their athletes are already competing on this bike. The bike will be offered in 5 sizes (XS - XL) and the seat angle can be set up ranging from 74 to 80 degrees, but we do not have the complete geometry numbers in our hands yet. Frame weight is listed as 1,100 grams for a size M and the point of entry is rumored to be Euro 9000.

We managed to take the Look 796 Monoblade outside for better lighting and to avoid grabby fingers and random legs in the background.

In this configuration, the extensions were mounted below the base bars.

Low, lower, and lowest, but this base bar can be reversed and that makes a 50mm difference.

All cables are internal.

The Junction A box is hidden in the compartment behind the stem, and the elbow pads can get stacked in 5mm increments up to 80mm.

The Look ZED crank system is adjustable from 155mm to 175mm, and a Shimano direct mount brake is sitting below the chainstays.

The front brake is hidden inside the fork and is proprietary.

The bike has a very narrow profile.

For this edition, Look used a Fixik Tritone saddle.

This is how the saddle clamps to the post.

This is a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 version, but Look also offers an Ultegra Di2 version.

Mike Aigroz has been riding a cool stealth version of this bike.
