The Maurice Clavel Scott Plasma 5

Scott Sports enlisted the talented young German Maurice Clavel to represent and race for them, and at Challenge Dubai we grabbed his Scott Plasma 5 to take a closer look. Although officially new to Scott, Clavel is very familiar with the brand as he trains under Lubos Bilek who also coaches Sebastian Kienle, and last year rode one of Sebi's older Scott race bikes.

As Clavel chats with Lubos Bilek in the background we had time to play with his Plasma 5.

This year all Scott sponsored pros are racing the distinctive fluo yellow logo editions, which the consumer can also grab that way.

All the connections here are very tight and smooth.

Clavel rides his bars very low and narrow, and uses SRAM Red components.

Clavel was among the later ones to check in and the sun was already starting to go down.

No power meter and 172.5 SRAM Red cranks with 53/39 rings. Clavel said he should be first back in T2 if he were to spin out that 53 - 11 gear.

Clavel races on a ProLogo Zero TT Nack saddle.

The VonDrais number was fastened to the back of the post, but not exactly as intended.

Schwalbe One tires front and back on Zipp race wheels.

The Scott Plasma 5 of Maurice Clavel is almost ready for action
