We had a chance to look closer at the Specialized S-Works Shiv of Ironman 70.3 World Champion Melissa Hauschildt at the Specialized wind tunnel in Morgan Hills, California. We will have a separate feature about her tunnel experience but for now here is her World Championship bike. Most of the other Specialized sponsored Pros showed up in Vegas on funky anniversary painted edition frames, but Melissa Hauschildt did not get hers in time before the big race. But since she crashed on the slick road with a few miles to go that may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. She had however changed a few things on the bike she raced earlier this year and here is what we found.

Melissa Hauschildt is 1.65 meter tall and rides an XS Shiv frame.

The cockpit is quite low.

Hauschildt used the Specialized Fuelselage and a bottle in the XLab cage.

On race day she had a Garmin 500 head unit sitting here.

The FuelCell is new for Hauschildt and she carried a PitStop and all her gels in here. She also learned in the tunnel yesterday that she will keep this setup and won't go back to a bottle cage on the down tube, and taping the PitStop to the seat post and the gels onto the toptube.

Hauschildt had just added this red Specialized Sitero before the race and was saddened that it is now scuffed.

We have to admit that we forgot to check the length of this S-Works crankset.

The Shimano Dura-Ace pedal also felt the slide on the road.
