We Noticed: Diamondback ...

With Kona coming closer we got a first look at the new Diamondback TT bike, plus the Lupine Rotlicht, a flying dog and a forward thinking mayor.

Diamondback Serios

We really do not know much about this new TT bike from Diamondback that is scheduled to be launched in Kona in a couple weeks. But here is a teaser video that shows surprisingly lots of details.

This is a simple screen grab from the teaser video, but we will get more information and detailed pictures once we are in Kona.

Lupine Rotlicht

German brand Lupine is well known for their very fine lighting systems and they have decided to tackle the Achilles Heel of cycling lights - the tail light. Lupine calls the Rotlicht " probably the brightest and most intelligent bike rear light on the market." Bright because at its max of 160 Lumens it is indeed very bright and all of this in a small 45 gram package. With a built-in acceleration sensor it intelligently turns into a brake light when you slow down, and the light sensor makes the light brighter as cars come closer.

A flying dog

Well it is indeed a flying dog, but with support of his owner Dean Potter, a famous rock climber and wingsuit flyer. The video is a short clip of Dean Potter and his dog Whisper as the jump of the Eiger in Switzerland. What have you done with your dog today?

A mayor with a vision

Of course there is always a bit of political BS in such messages but it certainly appears that Pittsburgh, PA mayor Bill Peduto looks past the automobile for urban life and transportation. He is very involved with pedestrians and cyclists in this former steel city.
