Jeff Henderson...
...was schooled as a computer science engineer and swam for Princeton University in college, but desperately wants to avoid programming and become a professional triathlete. Unfortunately, he is much better at the former than the latter.
Arguably the best two months of Jeff's life were spent in the summer of 1999, when he and a friend cycled 4,547 miles from Boston to LaPush, Washington (westernmost town in the contiguous U.S.). The days were long, living was cheap, and a friend could be found around nearly every corner. Top three observations during the journey: mountains are better than headwinds, there are six million different smells in the United States, and National Parks are not the place to be on a bike in the summer.
Jeff lives in San Francisco with his wife of one year, but they are packing up as we speak and moving to Spain in January, 2003. He hopes to develop his passion for writing and explore the European cycling and triathlon scenes, potentially scoring credentials for the Tour de France or the Vuelta someday. In the meantime, he will continue to work on his stride rate and one of these days his run will come 'round.
