For years, the only fork to have was Kestrel's EMS fork. It was actually not aerodynamically bad at all, but it was considered a road race fork, and it was––and is––a fine example of one.

Then Quintana Roo came out with its Carbonaero a few years ago, built for QR by Kinesis and still standard equipment on Trek's Hilo series––it was the fork Lance Armstrong used on all his Trek time trial bikes during his two Tour wins in '99 and '00. Now, there are aero forks all over the place, and guess what? They're all good (at least those below). Here's the "skinny" on each of them.
