Best of 2012 – the Bike

Natascha Badmann proved that age is just a number as the six-time Ironman World Champion posted the fastest women’s bike split on her way to 6th place at Kona at age 46. Andrew Starykowicz smashed Andreas Raelert’s world best Ironman-distance bike split by 7 minutes. Marino Vanhoenacker blew away the men’s field on the bike at Kona only to blow up on the run. Lukas Verzbicas suffered career-threatening injuries on a bike training workout in Colorado Springs but seems to be on the road to recovery. Thousands of triathletes enjoyed millions of miles of training and racing their bikes. And these are the best two wheel moments caught by my lens in 2012.
