Circ is short for circulation in this case and in our case it’s to get you to sign up for our weekly newsletter. Most of you get it already. It’s a recap of the week’s content on Slowtwitch.

Often we hold these in concert with a Slowtwitch partner. In this case it’s Roka. When we do this, for the period of the circ drive (2 weeks in this case) those who agree to receive our weekly newsletter also agree to be on Roka’s mailing list. What does Roka do in consideration for this? We have a “prize table” of 25 prizes and counting, most of which are Roka-provided.

The stipulation that we hold ourselves to, and hold our partner to as well, is that you can unsubscribe with a click at any time from either our newsletter or theirs (or both) and that your email address is 100 percent confidential and non-shareable.

What if you are already on their list or ours? Sign up again. Anybody is eligible. Why should you sign up now instead of in a week from now? Because tomorrow we start drawing names. The first name we draw gets the first crack at the prize table. We’ve got 25 prizes to begin with, we’ll try to add prizes every day. It’s not just Roka. Note the Garmin Varia Rearview Radar near the bottom of the list!

If we add prizes from other vendors that doesn’t mean your email goes on any additional lists. It is only to be used for our weekly newsletter, and for Roka’s emails to you (and only if you choose to continue subscribing to these newsletters or email prompts).

We’ll pick a couple of winners every day, you tell me your address, I pass it to Roka, they send the product directly to you.

Where do you sign up? Via the front page, via the bottom of every forum page, or via the embedded signup utility just below the first paragraph of this article.

On the front page it’s down the page a little and to the right, if you’re reading from a desktop. From a handheld scroll down a bit, you’ll see it. Put your email address in there, press SUBSCRIBE and you’re on. (Make sure there aren't blank spaces in front of or after your email address.)

What if you sign up and you’re already signed up? Will you get our newsletter twice? No. we merge-purge our lists when we send out a newsletter. The only way you’ll get the same newsletter from us twice is if you signed up for our newsletter using two different email addresses.
