2013 Interbike - Day 2

The second day of Outdoor Demo at Interbike was also hot and heavy winds that reportedly hit 40mph made riding deep wheels more interesting, but dealers came in droves to the demo.

Zipp introduced 188/V9 hubs with larger Swiss steel bearings with a custom cartridge. We spotted a few fast triathletes, saw many bikes being ridden and noticed exhibitors holding on to their tens with a death grip.

Ashleigh Gentle flew in late last night from London and she and boyfriend Josh Amberger joined an early morning editor ride with their SRAM sponsors.

There were in fact several rides leaving the Mandelay Bay parking lot around 8am.

Inside the Mandelay Bay bike dealers and exhibitors picked up their badges.

These school benches in the triathlon pavilion will likely be packed tomorrow.

We came to the Outdoor Demo in Boulder City around lunch time and it was very windy. The athlete on the right though was playing around.

The flags inside the Outdoor Demo campus showed that the wind meant business today.

It was very busy despite dust and wind.

Industry Nine now has a couple aero wheel offerings with their hubs and 26mm Reynolds rims.

Cyclocross bikes were quite popular.

For thirsty folks there was plenty on offer from brands like Cytomax, Osmo and Nuun, but there were also some non sports beverages.

In the Fuji booth quite a few Norcom Straight bikes went out and they looked very clean each time.

Here is the new Zipp rear hub that has Larger Swiss steal bearings.

There is also a disc brake version of that hub from Zipp.

Meanwhile folks kept riding and riding.

The wind certainly made things entertaining.

These guys rode very late in the afternoon.

Terry from College Cycles in Sacramento, CA took it a bit more relaxed.

These kids had a blast on the giant trikes.
