What We Have Noticed: Cytomax, Trix, Pearl Izumi...

This week we noticed Cytomax Energy Drops, the Trix Swim Bike Run onesies, the Pear Izumi P.R.O. Leader jersey, the Daniale IceCycle, a duel in the pool and a Norwegian winter triathlon.

Cytomax Energy Drops

What: Cytomax has Energy Drops in 2 flavors, non-caffeinated Pomegranate Berry + Tropical Fruit and Orange + Tangerine with 50mg of caffeine per pouch. Both flavors are very delicious and Cytosport recommends them to be used before and during training. So eat up.
MSRP: $31 for box of 16 but better deals can be had

Trix Swim Bike Run onesies

What: Trix has actually quite a few items in store for triathletes with babies, and the Swim Bike Run set of onesies is hard to beat. Available in both a boys and girls (more pink) version, a set of 3 onesies is available for $30. Not that your family, friends and neighbors not already knew what kind of passionate hobby you have.
MSRP: $30

Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Leader

What: The Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Leader jersey features In-R-Cool® technology that helps with cooling and UV sun protection, plus offers a few other cooling features including a full length zipper and direct-vent panels. Most importantly though, it does look cool and has reflective elements.
Colors: Black/White, Orange/Black, White/Black
MSRP: $200

Daniale IceCycle

What: No one really likes to get too hot when working out and the folks at Daniale seem to think they have a solution to that issue. The IceCycle looks a bit like a Camelback™, but it is not meant to keep you hydrated, just cool, calm and collected, and is available as a smaller Solo and a slightly bigger Duo. We have not tried this product out, but a few Pro cyclists apparently have.
MSRP: $74.95 (Duo)

Duel in the pool

What: On April 28th, triathlete Mary Eggers will race Lance Armstrong in the pool of the University of Buffalo with all proceeds of this event going to Livestrong and Kids Living with Cancer. Both athletes will use a kickboard for 50 meters to determine the winner, but the real win would be if a lot of money in the fight against cancer would be raised.
Date: April 28, 2012, 8pm
MSRP: n/a

Winter Norseman Triathlon

What: Four Norwegian Norseman veterans decided to test the Norseman Extreme Triathlon course in the winter, and two of them finished the whole course in just under 24 hours. They swam in dry suits from the Norwegian Army and used spikes in the mountain bike tires during their fun day out. Well, you get the picture, but do check out the video below and read their account in English on nxtri.com.
