A day after high winds, rain and flooded grounds postponed the scheduled Saturday Sarasota-Bradenton Americas Cup Triathlon, race officials reset a shortened Super Sprint course of a 375-meter swim, 12.2-kilometer bike leg and 2.5-kilometer run for a strong elite field.

After a fierce duel, Richard Murray of South Africa nipped Kevin McDowell of the U.S. by one second – 29:14 to 29:15 – with Daniel Dixon of Great Britain taking the final spot on the podium, 8 seconds back of McDowell.

By only a slightly narrower margin, Kirsten Kasper of the U.S. outran Emily Legault of Canada to win the elite women's crown by three seconds, with Rachel Klamer of Netherlands taking third place, 5 seconds back of Legault.
