What We Have Noticed: Scott, Tern ...

In this issue of What we Have Noticed we look at the Scott Split aero helmet, a folding bike from Tern, delicious chocolate from Ritter Sport, Chrissie Wellington's new book and Luke McKenzie's custom painted lid.

Scott Split aero helmet

What: Scott Sports recently introduced a new aero helmet called Split. A day ago in Melbourne, Aussie Pro Luke McKenzie was seen wearing a custom painted version of this helmet, and we believe that Marino Vanhoenacker had a plain white version at Ironman New Zealand / Taupo 70.3, but the Split won’t really be available to the public until spring 2013. No vents might be the first impression, but they are cleverly hidden just above the visor. And with all the optics experience of Scott Sports we expect the visors to be quite good.
Colors: TBD
Visor: 3 versions
Sizes: S, M, L
MSRP: $219 (w/o visor) $299
Available: Spring 2013

Tern D7i

What: It would be so cool to have a travel bike that folds up and would also double as a fun commuter bike. Pretty much all the Tern bikes fall into that category and the stealth looking D7i appears to be especially fun with fenders and a Shimano Nexus 7 hub at a reasonable price. Plus unlike most any other bikes, these Terns do come with pedals. If the D7i is still too pricey for your taste, you can get a C7 for $450, plus you could also spend a couple thousand bucks for a really sweet version that you could race for sure.
Color: black/grey
Folded size: 38 x 79 x 72 cm
Weight: 9.3kg (20.5lb)
MSRP: $800

Ritter Sport chocolate

What: You may wonder why we feature chocolate here and the answer is actually quite simple. Fast triathletes Rachel Joyce and Andreas Böcherer love Ritter Sport chocolate and they are surely not the only Pros who fall into that category. For Americans especially who grew up with Hershey’s and Ghiradelli, once you try Ritter Sport you won’t go back. Nugat as featured here is this editor’s favorite, and it is called Praline when buying it in North America. A factory tour in Waldenbuch, Germany (near Stuttgart) is also quite good fun.
Flavors: An endless variety
MSRP: € 0,89 or so in Europe

A Life Without Limits

What: Chrissie Wellington’s book A Life Without Limits will be available in mid May, but you can certainly get your name already on the order list. The 4-time Ironman World Champion has quite a story to tell and as we all know, this fast passionate Brit doesn’t really hold back. Learn all about Chrissie's life without limits and especially the time before she dropped into the limelight in 2007.
MSRP: $24.99

Luke McKenzie custom lid

What: Luke McKenzie had his brand new Scott Split helmet custom painted by Runamuk Visuals and the helmet looks absolutely stunning. Word has it that this is Runamuk’s first helmet project and that certainly does not show. Since these images were taken, a few graphics were added including a Scott branding one. McKenzie also has a new K-Swiss kit that matches the helmet quite nicely.
