Swallow combined a women’s-fastest 1:03:31 swim, a women’s-best 3:15:50 bike split and a women’s 4th-quickest 2:15:52 run to finish in 6:37:11 with a 7:29 margin of victory over Caroline Steffen of Switzerland and 18:54 over 3rd-place finisher Rachel McBride of Canada .

Swallow’s win was her third World Championship, coming after her 2009 ITU long distance world championship and 2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.
