Michelle Vesterby stormed to a 4th place finish at the GoPro Ironman World Championships aboard this very distinctive custom painted Cannondale Slice, with Shimano Dura-Ace, Vision Metron, TriRig and XLab components.
"My friend Quang Ramsing Fleuret painted my bike. I have know Quang since high school and he still lives in the city where I was born. He has made himself a big name in Herning where he is doing mainly tattoos, but he also paints for private people and firms," said Vesterby. "Painting a bike was all new for him, but we did a good job working together on my bike. I told him what I liked and he was still getting the touch of Cannondale. I simply love the bike."
The 51cm Cannondale Slice enjoys the late afternoon sun in Kona a couple nights before the race.
The paint scheme on the bike is an art piece indeed, and surely no other like it.
Vesterby rides TriRig Omega X brakes front and back on her bike.
An XLab Aero TT bottle on the downtube leaves not much space for anything else in this tiny front triangle.
Vesterby rides 170mm Vision Metron cranks with a Garmin Vector power meter.
A TriRig Sigma stem holds the Vision Metron aero bars in place. Vesterby has an XLab Torpedo BTA setup and the Garmin 1000 hides behind it.
When this close with the Cannondale Slice the paint details are very clear.
A Vision Metron 55 up front and a Metron 88 in the back and Continental Competition tubulars on both wheels for the race. The wheels here were the training wheels.
A signature behind the seat tube reveals the name of the artist.
