Tim Don's S-Works Shiv Tri

Tim Don is not only fast, but smart, funny and well liked by his competitors. Sadly about a week before the Ironman 70.3 World Championships he crashed hard and ended up not finishing the big race in Austria, but let's take a look at his S-Works Shiv Tri.

Tim Don quickly charged into the lead at the Ironman 70.3 Worlds but his day did not go well.

Here is his Specialized S-Works Shiv Tri, almost ready for action.

Tim Don added TriRig brakes to his race bike.

There is not much here for the wind.

The massive aero downtube is a very distinctive feature on the Shiv Tri.

I guess we know who fitted this guy.

Tim Don rides a Specialized Sitero saddle without the water bottle attachment.

The Enve SES 8.9 rear wheel has a 26mm Specialized Turbo Cotton tire with a Turbo talc tube.

Tim Don relies on Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 shifting, and added a CeramicSpeed UFO chain and CeramicSpeed pulleys. The Shimano cassette is 11/28.

The S-Works cranks are 167.5mm and feature a Power2Max power meter. Chainrings up front are 55/42 and the bottom bracket features CeramicSpeed bearings.

The rear brake is also by TriRig.

During a race Don stores gels and a repair kit here, but with an injured hand in Zell am See, he left the repair kit out.

The front Enve SES 8.9 wheel is laced with a Specialized Turbo Cotton 24mm tire.

The DT-Swiss 180 hubs were also upgraded with CeramicSpeed bearings.

Don's custom painted helmet makes it clear which team he is racing for.
