Course Info: The Jamestown Olympic Triathlon is located across the street from the birthplace of America, Jamestown, VA. Just minutes from Williamsburg, VA there are multiple places to stay and many things to do once you are done with your race. After a 1500 meter swim in the James River athletes will ride through 24 miles of rural countryside on mostly flat terrain and good pavement. Once you have laced up your running shoes you?ll be treated to a flat and fast run course on a combination of bike paths and jogging trails. Take a half day Friday and get in early to get your race packet, check out the race site and experience all that the greater Williamsburg area has to offer, including modern attractions, amusements, and historical sites from Jamestown to Yorktown.

More: Swim Course brought to you by Sail Time: The swim course is a 1500 meter rectangular course in the brackish James River. The start and finish is now located just adjacent to the Ferry at the newly renovated Jamestown Beach Event Park. The water temperature is expected to be in the mid to upper 70's. A preliminary water temperature will be posted on the website the Thursday prior to the event. An official reading will be taken race morning. Regardless of where we start, we will be swimming WITH the current. Click HERE for real time water temperature updates.

Bike: The bike course is very fast and mostly flat. The largest elevation gain/loss is when crossing the Chicahominy river bridge. At mile 10.75 athletes turn left onto a low traffic road to get the remainder of the distance prior to turning around and coming back to the transition area. Again, this is an out and back course.

Run: The run is pancake flat and the beginning is on an asphalt bike path that parallels the bike course. This course includes many of the shaded, packed gravel trails that are used for the Patriots Half in September. There will be aid stations at the start of the run and and about every mile thereafter. Aid stations will have water, ice and Gatorade.

Aquabike and Relays are option available when registering.

Post Race Food: Pizza and beer will be provided to all athletes along with late season melons and other goodies.

This event features a Tri-Blend Crew Style T-shirts, Custom Race Socks, Finisher?s Medals, Professional DJ, Bounce House.

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
