Registration fees included or disclosed up front?: Not specified whether registration/convenience fees are added. Course Info: There is both an Intermediate (Olympic) and Short (Sprint) triathlon held on the same day.
The one loop swim takes place in Keuka Lake, a fairly calm lake, in the Finger Lakes Region of NY State. The course is expected to be either a triangular or rectangular loop (depending on wind and surface chop). The water temperature is typically in the 60s to low 70s. Wetsuits will be allowed.
The one loop bike course takes place on fairly smooth roads. The bike course is mainly flat with a mix of some rolling hills. There is a moderate climb after the first turnaround in Branchport and a long steady climb starting after the 10 mile to the turnaround point on Skyline Drive. As they say, what goes up must come down so save your legs for the fast downhill finish to transition!
This incredible run course features some spectacular scenery of Keuka Lake and the sprawling farmlands. There are a few rolling hills, but overall multisport athletes will find this a fast, fair run course. The running surface of this course consists of pavement.
More: Welcome to the Keuka Lake Triathlon!!! The KLT has grown to be one of the largest in the Finger Lakes Region. Originally based in Penn Yan, the event moved down the shore to Keuka College in 2005. Our hosts have provided a beautiful setting right on campus. The post race dining experience goes far beyond the typical, offering an indoor buffet style lunch with a large menu selection.
