Course Info: Exact course maps for each event are found online. All share similar courses although the outline is for the Full distance event in particular.

Swim Course 2.4 Miles (4 Laps) -The swim will be a diamond loop. There will be buoys marking the route.. The first buoy will be at 250 meters, the second will be 215 meters, the third will be 215 meters and from that to finish is another 250 meters. This is done this way to give a extra buoy to the current swim triangle course and make it a 1.2 Mile distance. Full Distance must swim this four times to get the complete distance. This will allow for more lifeguard support. Water temps have been around 62-65 degrees the last 3 years.

Bike Course 112 Miles (One Lap and a little more done twice) - This course exits out of Bear Lake Hot Springs right and heads across the South on the East Shore Road. Racers will turn right at Laketown and head West then North to St Charles, Idaho. At St. Charles Idaho racers will head back to Bear Lake Hot Springs. Prior to returning into the Hot Springs the racers will head South for a extra 2.7miles out and back on the East Road to complete the 56 Miles. Distance around lake is 50.6 Miles. Doing this course twice will give you 112 miles on the bike.

Run Course 26.2 Miles (Two Laps)- This course is out and back twice. It leaves the Bear Lake Hot Springs and West across the North Beach Road. At Mile 6.55 you will return to the start of the run and do it again. 13.1 Miles then repeat. This is primarily a flat straight course with beautiful views of Bear Lake.

More: In 2006 the Bear Lake Brawl Triathlon was established. It is the original and only triathlon in Bear Lake currently. Organized and race directed by On Hill Events an experienced Race Director with over 200 races of experience. This race has 13 years of experience in its history without cancellation or course leg cancellation. We term the Half 70 1/3 and Full 140 2/3 to describe the full and half courses. In 2016 we were able to make the full and half the standard distances of Half 1.2 Mile Swim, 56 Mile Bike, 13.1 Run and Full 2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike, and 26.2 Mile Run.

In 2017 we were excited to move our race to Bear Lake Hot Springs near St. Charles Idaho. Though it is primarily in Idaho 3 of the 4 courses go into Utah. In 2018 we elected to have all 4 distances on one day making for a larger event. We have worked out a great layout to help reduce overlapping of the 4 courses. Generally speaking the Sprint will be done prior to the Bike on the Half and Full will be around the lake.

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
