Registration fees included or disclosed up front?: Not specified whether registration/convenience fees are added. Course Info: The White Deer Triathlon Committee is moving forward with a 2021 event. The safety of our race participants and volunteers is top of mind, therefore, all planning is being done with COVID-19 safety guidelines in place. This year ONLY we are changing to a duathlon format. The 2021 White Deer Duathlon will be staged at the Boulder Junction Community Center and will feature a 6.5k run, a 22k bike (same route as the triathlon) and finish with a 2k run.
Individuals and 2-person relay teams are welcome to participate. Your fun adventure begins in beautiful Boulder Junction. A challenging (but not too challenging) endurance course awaits you! Duathlon begins at 9am, bagged lunch from 11am-3pm outdoors at the Community Center with awards ceremony immediately following the race.
More: Individuals, ages 15-70+: Medals will be awarded to the top three males and top three females in each of the following age categories: 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Award plaques will be presented to the top male and top female overall.
2-Person Relay: The relay teams consist of 2 individuals ? one completing both the 6.5k run and 2k run, the other completing the 22k bike. The relay team member?s scores are added together for the total team score. A plaque for each member of the top relay team will be awarded and the 2nd and 3rd place team members will be awarded a medal.
ALL athletes finishing the race will receive a participation medal.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
