The Capital City Kid's Triathlon will be held entirely within the beautiful Hawk Island County Park for maximum safety & visibility. The swim portion will be within the pre-set Hawk Island Park swim area with multiple lifeguards in the water. Our 6 & under racers will be in waist deep or lower water & typically just run out of the water rather than swim, but may still choose to wear swimmies or lifejackets. They may also use any bike they choose, including tricycles or training wheels. Our 7-14 year olds may be able to touch in the water but we highly encourage them to swim the swim portion of the race if at all possible. Race entry includes registration swag bag, official race timing for our 7-10 year old racers (6 & under is non-competitive), a custom race t-shirt, finisher medal for every racer, awards ceremony, race photography and post race snacks & drinks. Registration opens at 7:30 am, along with transition area. Races start at 9:30 am with the awards ceremony starting around 11:30 am.
Directions: Hawk Island County Park in Lansing, MI. There is a parking fee imposed by the park.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
