General Info: Joe Bachana is an Ironman? Certified Coach, a USAT Level II Elite/ITU Certified Coach, a USAT Youth/Juniors Certified Coach, a USA Cycling Level I Certified Master Coach and a USA Cycling Certified Power Based Coach. Joe is also a Pose Method Certified Instructor. He has coached professionally for a decade and has competed in multisport events since 1991.
Joe coaches cyclists, runners, duathletes and triathletes on a 1-on-1 basis as well as in groups. Joe is also a staff coach of the TriLatino Juniors Triathlon Club and is a staff coach of Star Track Youth Cycling at Kissena Velodrome in Queens, NY.
Joe currently coaches an even mix of male and female athletes ranging in age from 14 to 71 years of age. Many of the athletes he coaches have successfully placed in their age groups and overall at triathlons around the region. Joe has also helped committed athletes qualify for Worlds 70.3 and 140.6 championship slots. Joe has also helped athletes win age group world titles.
Coach Joe uses Trainingpeaks.com and WKO+4 to manage each individual athlete's training program. For those athletes that are in the region or willing to travel for one-on-one or camp sessions, Joe performs field testing and technical assessments of each individual athlete to diagnose any issues that require remediation in the training plan. Athletes upload their workouts to trainingpeaks.com and Joe interacts through that platform, via email, phone or text to address any questions or to offer feedback/comments to the athlete.
In order to work with Coach Joe, an athlete needs to invest in a smart trainer such as Kickr, SNAP, TACX Neo, Computrainer (for those athletes that own one from that now-defunct company) or any other power trainer that can interface via ANT+ or BlueTooth with TrainerRoad or PerfPro Studio that the athlete would have on their home computer, iPad or iPhone. Coach Joe also has a preference for coaching athletes that have a power meter on board the bike. Additionally, the athlete is expected to wear a heart rate monitor and sports watch such as Garmin or Suunto during any training session (swim sessions do not require HR strap). Rates & Fees: Rates & Fees depend upon your budget, goals and level of support that you would like. One-on-one sessions range from $85-125 and monthly fees are $300 - $400/month depending upon whether we include one-on-one sessions in your training program. Training Camps Offered: Coach Joe periodically offers training camps in the Catskills region of New York State in the Spring and Summer months as well as cycling and run technique/skills clinic year round. Coach Joe will also support athletes onsite at races or in their training at a mutually-agreed upon Time & Expenses.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
