General Information

General Information: Fit is Everything! In order for a bicycle to fit properly it must become a continuation of the rider. The Traditional method of trying to "fit you" to a bike by having you stand over the frame is not the answer. Fact is, frame size has very little to do with bicycle fit. Two cyclists of the same height and weight can be so proportionately different that they would require two different sized bikes. Recreational rider or professional racer, the key to an enjoyable cycling experience is fit.

Proper fit is a balance between performance and comfort. Different types of riding require different types of riding positions. many believe that a sore neck, saddle induced numbness, aching knees or back pain are just a part of cycling. Pain is not normal! Utilizing the Fit Kit professional fitting system our experienced technicians can help get your bicycle fine-tuned to the proportions and condition of your body. We can achieve your most efficient biomechanical position increasing comfort, power, speed, and endurance. Let us take away the guesswork and frustration while vastly reducing the risk of physical injuries that can occur from improper positioning.

Following an initial interview process, flexibility tests, range of motion tests and the use of proprietary skeletal measuring devices the Fit Kit system utilizes software to enable BIKEFIT technicians to confidently find the best line of fit for you. Once the bicycle is set up to a safe developmental starting position we will analyze your pedal stroke dynamics and run through a series of tests and checks to fine tune your custom fit. We're likely to offer riding technique suggestions to increase your cycling comfort even further.

Another important area of fit that is often overlooked is cycling shoe cleat position. With the Fit Kit R.A.D. (Rotational Adjustment Device) we can biomechanically position the fore-aft, side-to-side and rotation your cleats to reduce the risk of physical injuries by eliminating stress on you ankles, knees, hips and lower back.
Directions: 184 Scott Street between Lake St and Geneva St, next to Jumbo Video.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
