How WRC Began
After narrowly escaping collisions on two separate occasions while driving his car, a bearing salesman named Eugene Kiefel began looking for a job change. He investigated several business opportunities including go-kart sales and a Dairy Queen franchise. Then he saw an ad in the Denver Post: Bike Shop for Sale. He responded to the ad, and in August, 1973, purchased the shop.
Starting with $4,800 and 750 square feet, Eugene built a bicycle empire. In 1973, the store staff included Eugene, and well, Eugene. During the summers he tripled his staff with the addition of his three children, Ron, Leona, and Erlinda.
One of those children, Ron, left the shop to become a seven-time Tour de France competitor, the first American to win a stage in the Giro d’Italia and a 1984 Olympic bronze medalist, and is now a key member of our management team. We don’t want to think about what might have been if Eugene had chosen the DQ franchise
Today we operate out of a 29,000 square foot facility, selling thousands of bicycles each year, and we still treat our customers with the same respect, honesty and value Eugene began with over 30 years ago.
Our staff of 50 includes an aforementioned professional racer, seven Serotta-certified fit experts, professional racers, countless recreational racers, product gurus and dedicated bicycle commuters.
And we love our bicycles! Most importantly, our hand-picked staff is here to show you the most fun possible on two wheels. Directions: Coming from either direction on I-70 you will get off at the Wadsworth exit and head south for about 1 mile to 38th avenue. At 38th avenue turn left (east) for about 1/4 mile. We'll be on your left hand side. You can't miss us.

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
