A week ago at round 4 of the Dextro Energy ITU World Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany Javier Gomez battled local favorite Jan Frodeno for the title and managed to take the win with Frodeno grabbing the runner-up spot. Fast forward a week to today and this time in London, England Gomez battled Brits Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee step for step before eventually taking another impressive win in front of the partisan British crowd. Surprisingly it was the younger Brownlee who grabbed the runner-up spot while pre-race favorite Alistair bonked very hard with 400 meters to go and dropped from second to tenth position.
