A 5k swim is no walk in the park and that is for sure, but the stunning surrounding might make us forget about it.

Earlier that day lights were certainly appreciated.

Finally out of the water after 5k of swimming fun.

Christine Anderson of Team Timex is ready to take on the brisk early morning bike segment. She eventually won the race.

Defending champion Jordan Rapp is also bundled up.

Thomas Gerlack is cranking hard here.

The views are truly stunning here in Bend.

No rest here for Matt Lieto. This course requires full attention.

The climbing at the Leadman Tri is not for the weak.

With majestic surroundings the mind might indeed wander at times.

Mathias Hecht is always dangerous, and he showed it again at Leadman Tri.

This may have been one of the largest bunches here at Leadman.

Jordan Rapp rode a race best bike split of 5:43:44 for the 223k bike segment and reached T2 in first place.

Hecht was hanging tough.

Rachel McBride was second out of the water but missed a course marker on the bike, and that was true apparently for Heather Jackson and Jackie Arendt too.

Meanwhile up front a very focused Jordan Rapp approached the bike-run transition.

The desire to travel to Bend for some good road riding comes easily up when seeing these images.

Let us welcome the 2012 Leadman Tri champion Jordan rapp.

Mathias Hecht got a well deserved second place and was very gracious to race winner Jordan Rapp after the event.

Trish Deim finished third in the women's race, a couple minutes behind Haley Cooper-Scott.
