2-time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander clocked a very fast 3:48:56 on his way to win the Ironman 70.3 Racine. Kiwi Sam Warriner was solid all day long and took the women's title.

Alexander swam 24:59, biked 2:06:02 and closed out his day with a 1:15:19 run.

"I led a small group out of the water, I was pleased to lead but frustrated because they swam on my feet the whole way and I wanted to distance myself early from them," said Warriner after the race. "I rode very hard out of transition and with in the first 10km I had put 30
seconds into the other girls and kept extending it throughout the bike"

With her win in Racine over Major, Warriner avenged being run down by the Aussie a week earlier at the Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island. Another mile in the run though and we might have seen a repeat performance by Major as she closed to within a few seconds by the finish line.

"With a km to go Kate got within 20 meters of me, but I surged and put my head down, with 400m to go I was sprinting and just giving it everything to hold off Kate. She never came back and I crossed the line in first," added Warriner.
