Isles of Scilly SwimRun unveiled

The ÖTILLÖ crew added a Swimrun World Series event in the UK on the Isles of Scilly, but this late June event only has a limited amount of slots available.

The Isles of Scilly are off the Southwestern coast of Great Britain and according to a press release have been inhabited since the Stone Age. But of the 140 islands of various sizes only 5 currently have folks residing on them. The race on these islands will have a total length of 45km of which 10km are swimming, and that swim will be broken up in at least 8 segments. The 8 or more trail runs that add up to 35km running distance will mostly be the major islands of St. Mary’s, Tresco, St. Martin and Bryher.

The inaugural event will be held on June 18th, 2016 and in its first year will be limited to 100 teams. At total of 8 qualification spots to the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championships are also up for grabs.
