Ronnie Schildknecht (SUI) won the 2008 Ironman Switzerland thanks in part to his 4:27:43 bike split. Stefan Riesen (SUI) was the runner-up and Frank Vytrisal (GER) took the final podium spot. In the women's race it was Sybille Matter (SUI) who proved to be too strong for her competition. Kathrin Paetzold (GER) was second and Caroline Steffen (SUI) finished third.

Sturla and Keller dominant in Brazil
Eduardo Sturla had a convincing win and the fastest bike split at the Brazil Ironman Florianopolis 2008 after a relatively slow swim with two broken bones in his right hand. 44 year old Fernanda Keller won the women's race on her home turf and will now return to Kona for the 21st consecutive time. 5.26.08
