Jamie Whitmore, the 2007 XTERRA USA Champion, 2004 XTERRA World Champion and 2003/04 XTERRA European champion started the toughest challenge of her life as she entered the University of California San Francisco Medical Center on Friday, February 29, 2008. She is currently undergoing tests for a tumor found on her left pelvis.

According to her doctor it is anticipated that Jamie can return to her home in the Sacramento region later this week to await the test results. Putting a positive spin on a scary situation, Jamie stated, "I've entered the challenge of my life and I will finish strong."
