Precision Fuel & Hydration Lands Title Sponsorship of IRONMAN 70.3 Worlds

IRONMAN today announced that Precision Fuel & Hydration, their on-course hydration partner for most events worldwide, will step up to title sponsorship of the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, taking place in Marbella this November.

Precision provides on-course beverage support for races in Europe, South Africa, and Oceania. Precision’s PH1000 beverage will be served on course at the 2025 70.3 World Championships. Fueling options will continue to be provided by Maurten.

Precision Fuel & Hydration co-founder Andy Blow said in a statement, “IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship events are one of the highlights of the triathlon season, with incredible performances and the bringing together of the wider triathlon community in celebration. Those who know us will know that, while the reason we exist is to help athletes perform at their best, we also like to have a bit of fun doing it. We have some exciting things planned for Marbella that we’re looking forward to sharing as the event approaches. Watch this space.”

Yanni Andreopoulos, Executive Vice President, Global Partnerships for The IRONMAN Group said, “We first welcomed PF&H as a partner back in May 2024, and since then, the feedback from our athletes – both on and off the race course – has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re also hearing that more athletes than ever feel confident and dialed in to their race-day hydration strategy, which is helping them perform at their best and recover more effectively. We’re excited to take this partnership to the global stage, and look forward to welcoming the PF&H team to Marbella in November.”

Precision Fuel & Hydration replaces VinFast as the title sponsor at this year’s event. The electric vehicle start-up has been quietly dropped from the list of premier and global event partners on the IRONMAN website. VinFast had received naming rights as part of its partnership agreement, which was announced back in 2022.

The 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship events will take place on November 8th and 9th in Marbella, Spain, with more than 6,000 athletes taking to race course over the two days.

  1. I really hope this paves the way for PF&H replacing Mortal in North America.

  2. You and me both…

They must have a lot of cash laying around. Kinda impressive for a nutrition company.

  4. Man…I was hoping for no more maurten moves. I remember when they were tiny and Andy was podcasting with Mark Livesey and they were doing custom powder and blood testing to fine tune their athlete.

Happy for them, business must be booming.

    Good for the participants.

    why is that good
they are both electrolyte drinks with close to 0 carbs

  7. Hopefully the deal is beneficial for both sides, and not so one sided in IM’s favor. Since they are already partners PFH should know what they are getting in to.

  8. They have more than just the hydration products.

  9. Avatar for pk pk says:

yes but they cant place them in the race …
so you are getting 2.2 grams of carbs per bottle
they are still the hydration sponsor.

  10. Why is PFH better than Mortal? They are both ~calorie-less bad tasting drinks.

  11. Personal preference, I much prefer the light flavor of PF&H. Mortal is too goddamn sweet. The mango isn’t too bad, but the berry tastes like unset jello and the “margarita” tastes like liquid lifesavers, it’s horrible. It makes me feel sick if I have to take more than a cup.

  12. Avatar for kajet kajet says:

Regular mortal only has 450 miligrams of sodium per liter - less than half of what they put in PFH 1000.

Also, I like the company. They gave me free stuff, including delicious chews. When I’m happy, ironman athletes are happy.

    That is all.

  13. I’m as strong an opponent to the non-caloric sweetener as a person can be. I wish they weren’t being used at Ironman. Non-caloric sweeteners have no place in racing, at all.

But I did hear that Mortal Hydration has since come out with a carb formula, however I can’t find it upon looking for it. And what makes me hate them just a little bit more is after all of the hate they got at putting stevia in their products, they have a new line of powders with No Stevia!

EXCEPT — if you look at the ingredients there’s no stevia, however, this is at the end of the list:

    FERMENTED REBAUDIOSIDE M

    What is that?

"Fermented Rebaudioside M (Reb M) is a zero-calorie sweetener produced through a fermentation process, often using modified yeast and sugarcane as a starting material. It is a bioidentical form of the naturally occurring steviol glycoside, Reb M, found in stevia plants, but produced at a much larger scale through fermentation. "

Great — so it’s stevia, but they don’t call it stevia, and it’s made through a bulk fermentation process to save money (presumably). What a bunch of crap.

It’s kind of funny it’s not ironman that gets the wrath of the people they f.xked this up how they outline the hydration sponsor deal.
Either hydration sponsors product is closed to useless for the task at hand.

  15. Yes, Ironman is stupid for picking a stupid product. I think this is the problem with Ironman decision makers apparently not being believers and users of their product (meaning frequent training Ironman racers). You don’t have to be a dedicated user, but you at least have to understand them. It it looks like Ironman was just dismissive of the reality of how their customers feel. IM was completely out of touch on these decisions.

They can cover their butts all they want and say hydration is separate from nutrition. But putting non-caloric sweeteners into these things does no good. I can’t imagine why anyone thinks it would be good to trick your body into thinking sugar is coming into the engine, “nope! fooled ya!” and then race with even more sugar fatigue as so you’re taking tons of sweet gels and then topping them off with uselessly sweet drinks.

IM deserves the hate, but Mortal is not innocent of this as they should know who their product is for and who it’s not for.

Be honest: do you know how to change a flat on your bike?

If given the choice, you prefer to ride a wheel that is:

Do you believe that hookless wheels are unsafe, or simply not for you?
