Julie Derron Wins T100 Vancouver 2026 — Race Recap in Photos

After an a closely fought race that even she figured must be exciting to watch (more on that later), Switzerland’s Julie Derron stayed close enough off the bike to use her patented run skills to take the day at T100 Vancouver, pulling clear of bike leader Kate Waugh on the run to earn her third T100 victory. Waugh would hang tough for second, an impressive return to T100 racing for the reigning T100 world champ after a season that’s been marred by injury. Rounding out the podium was T100 Spain winner Georgia Taylor Brown, who had a frustrating day, but was still able to run past Canadian favourite Paula Findlay to nab that last podium spot.

The backdrop for the swim was spectacular and featured an Aussie exit at the end of the first loop.
Taylor Spivey would lead the way out of the water …
… and things were quite spread out thanks to the current that seemed to affect some more than others.
T100 series leader Imogen Simmonds was very aggressive early on in the bike.
But so were Paula Findlay and …
Kate Waugh, who would lead off the bike.
Julie Derron was always relatively close to the lead on the bike, keeping her in the mix.
Fresh off her Challenge Roth and Alpe d’Huez wins, Alanis Siffert also rode aggressively.
Bianca Bogen also had a good ride.
Waugh looked good through the early part of the run …
… but Derron was moving even quicker.
Just a few weeks after her IRONMAN win in Lake Placid, hometown hero Paula Findlay ran her way to third early on in the run.
After spending much of the year injured, Waugh held on to the lead for quite a while.
Keeping cool was a bit of a challenge as things heated up towards the end of the run.
Lydia Russel was competing in her first T100 race.
A very happy winner … and justifiably so.
Waugh hung tough for second.
Taylor-Brown got third.
A very happy Findlay got fourth.
