Ready for Nice: Marta Sanchez’s Tricked Out QR V-PRi

It truly is a bike built with love. Marta Sanchez arrives here in Nice as an athlete who definitely could contend for the podium, and that performance will definitely be enhanced thanks to the hard work her husband, Arnau Pericas, has done on her Quintana Roo V-PRi. (Pericas is no stranger to the sport himself – after a 12-year hiatus from triathlon, he qualified for Kona at IRONMAN Texas, where his wife finished third.)

Sanchez is returning to the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship for the first time since 2024, when she finished 21st among the pro women. After a stellar season that saw that third at IRONMAN Texas, she took second at IRONMAN Lake Placid, along with fifth (Elsinore) and sixth (Oceanside) at a pair of 70.3s, she is ready to take on the world’s best this weekend in Nice.

Sanchez joined the Quintana Roo team at the start of the 2026 season, and she has made the brand proud pedalling a unique giraffe-print custom-painted V-PRi on triathlon courses around the world. As you’ll see below, Sanchez’s bike looks quite different thanks to all the special work done by her husband.

To make the bike even lighter for the climbs here in Nice, Pericas removed the tool storage system on the V-PRi, along with the frame hydration and nutrition storage compartments. He added his own custom 3D-designed bento box that’s aero while providing enough room for four gels. There’s a custom carbon-fibre BTA mountain plate on the bars, and pretty much every bolt has been replaced with a titanium one. There’s one exception to that, though – he went with, in his words, “gold titanium cockpit hardware.” (That gold titanium hardware is used for the saddle, too.) He’s added LEAP custom SRAM Wireless Blip mounts and custom aero shift buttons, along with a Print4Watts titanium reach extender.
