IRONMAN Releases Full 2027 American and Canadian Race Schedule
After a flurry of race announcements this week, IRONMAN has now released its full American and Canadian schedule of full-distance and 70.3 races for 2027. Athletes will have 10 full-distance races to choose from in 2027 along with 36 IRONMAN 70.3 events. This list doesn’t include next year’s IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, which will take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 28-29, 2027.
New Races Announced
On Monday we reported on IRONMAN 70.3 Lake George, which debuts on June 13, 2027. IRONMAN went on to announce two more races this week ahead of today’s full schedule news: IRONMAN 70.3 Utah on August 21 and IRONMAN Montana, Great Falls on August 15, 2027.
The Utah event will take place in Orem, with the race starting off with a swim in Deer Creek Reservoir. The bike and run will traverse Provo Canyon and Utah Valley, with the finish at Orem City Centre Park.
The new full-distance race in Montana will take place in Great Falls, the heart of Big Sky Country. Set on the Missouri River at roughly 3,300 feet above sea level, the race promises to showcase “the landscapes and outdoor character that make the region unique.” The day begins with a single-loop swim in the Missouri River, a one-loop bike course offering vies of the Rocky Mountain Front and Glacier National Park (along with 3,000 feet of climbing), followed by a two-loop run course along the banks of the Missouri River, with the finish near Elks Riverside Park.
US and Canadian Calendar
The 2027 calendar for the two countries spans most of the year, with the season opening with IRONMAN 70.3 Dallas on March 14 and closing with IRONMAN 70.3 La Quinta on December 5. The 10 full-distance races run from IRONMAN Texas on April 24 to IRONMAN Florida on November 6. Races in Canada include Ottawa, Victoria, Mont-Tremblant, Muskoka and Calgary. The dates for the 70.3 races in Michigan, New York and Florida are still to be determined.

I was looking at the Pro schedule to go along with this.
Things that caught my eye. Musselman gets a pro field.
And is it odd they have designated some, but not all of the regional championships? I know they are somewhat inconsequential, but why not?
Happy Valley not being “officially” listed as the NA Championship…does that mean maybe something later in the year might be getting it….cough New York cough
Asia Pacific and Europe do not have 70.3 Championships either.
For the Montana race, what does a “single loop river course” look like? I would have assumed it would be point to point.
