Dye, Kaye win LA Triathlon

A race best bike split of 53:38 helped Cameron Dye to grab the win at the 2012 Herbalife LA Triathlon. Alicia Kaye also dominated the bike segment with a 58:26 effort and then ran to the title in the women’s race.

Thomas, Hoogland in Poconos

Jesse Thomas showed supremacy on the bike before closing it out with a fine run to take the win at the Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains. Tenille Hoogland took the women’s title with a similar effort.

Kriat, Hauschildt rule Augusta

Maxim Kriat had to hold off a hard charging Nick Waninger to win Ironman 70.3 Augusta. Melissa Hauschildt pulled away from defending champion Emma-Kate Lidbury during the run to grab the women’s title.

Greg Billington of Colorado Springs ran away from Clark Ellice of New Zealand on the final 2-mile run leg to win $2,500 at the Formula 1 sprint triathlon revival Saturday in Coronado, California.

Lisa Norden must have felt a sense of déjà vu when she had to sprint with Anne Haug for the title of the ITU Yokohama WTS race, but here the fast Swede took the win – unlike in London where the photo finish went in favor of Nicola Spirig.

Potts, Fletcher win Branson 70.3

Andy Potts posted the fastest swim, bike and run splits to out pace runner-up Ben Hoffman by 4 minutes; Jenny Fletcher outdueled Nina Kraft-Johnson by 30 seconds to win Ironman 70.3 Branson.

Böcherer, Blatchford take Cozumel

Andi Böcherer ran away from Paul Ambrose and Luke McKenzie to take the 2012 Ironman 70.3 Cozumel in 3:53:45. Liz Blatchford had a solid day throughout and grabbed the women’s title ahead of Melissa Hauschildt in 4:14:31.
