How to Post
a Listing

Everything you need to know to list your bike, components, or gear on the Slowtwitch Classifieds—from account setup to your first sale.

01
Create Your Account

You need a Slowtwitch.com account before you can post a listing. This is the same account you’d use for the Forum. Already have one? Skip to Step 2.

  1. Go to slowtwitch.com/sign-in-sign-up
  2. Enter your email address—this will walk you through the rest of the steps.
  3. Check your email for a verification link and click it to confirm your account.
  4. Log in with your new credentials. You’re ready to post.
02
Start a New Listing

Once you’re logged in:

  1. Click Add Listing from within your account in your user dashboard.
  2. Select the Classifieds directory if prompted.
  3. You’ll be taken to the listing submission form.
03
Upload Photos

Photos sell gear. Listings with clear, well-lit images get significantly more interest than those without.

  • Include at least 3–5 photos. Show the item from multiple angles.
  • Show the drive side if it’s a bike. This is standard.
  • Photograph any damage or wear up close. Transparency prevents disputes.
  • Use natural light and a clean background when possible.
  • Show the serial number for frames and complete bikes. It builds buyer confidence.
04
Fill In Your Listing Details

Complete each section of the form. Here’s what you’ll need:

Title

Write a clear, descriptive title that includes the brand, model, and size. Buyers scroll quickly—make it easy for them to know what you’re selling at a glance.

Good Example
"Cervelo P5 Disc – Size 54 – Ultegra Di2"
Bad Example
"Tri bike for sale"
Category

Select the category that best fits your item:

  • Complete Bikes (Triathlon, Road, Gravel, Mountain)
  • Frames & Framesets
  • Wheels & Tires
  • Components & Groupsets
  • Saddles & Cockpit
  • Wetsuits & Swim Gear
  • Run Gear & Shoes
  • Electronics & Power Meters
  • Accessories & Other

If your item doesn’t fit neatly into a category, choose the closest match.

Description

This is where you sell your item. Be honest and thorough. Include:

  • What it is (brand, model, year if known)
  • Size and key specs
  • Why you’re selling
  • Any modifications or upgrades
  • Any damage, scratches, or wear (be upfront—it builds trust)
  • Whether original packaging or accessories are included
Condition

Select the condition of your item from the dropdown:

NewUnused, in original packaging
Like NewUsed once or twice, no visible wear
GoodNormal wear from regular use, fully functional
FairSignificant wear or cosmetic issues, but still works
For PartsNot fully functional, sold as-is
Price

Enter your asking price in USD. If you’re open to offers, mention it in your description. Do your homework—check what similar items have sold for on the forum or elsewhere so your price is competitive.

Location

Enter your city and state. This helps buyers who prefer local pickup and gives everyone a sense of shipping distance. You don’t need to provide a street address.

Contact Information

Choose how you’d like buyers to reach you. You can use the built-in contact form (recommended), provide an email address, or both. Buyers must be logged in to contact you, which helps cut down on spam.

05
Review & Submit

Before you hit Submit:

  1. Double-check your title, description, and price for accuracy.
  2. Make sure your photos uploaded correctly and are in the right order (the first photo becomes the thumbnail).
  3. Confirm your contact preferences are set.
  4. Click Submit Listing.

Your listing may go through a brief review before going live. You’ll receive an email confirmation once it’s published.

06
Manage Your Listing

After your listing is live, you can manage it from your dashboard:

  • Edit – Update the price, description, or photos at any time.
  • Mark as Sold – Once the item sells, mark it so other buyers know.
  • Delete – Remove your listing entirely if needed.
  • Renew – If your listing expires, you can renew it to keep it active.
Tips for a Successful Listing

Price It Right

Research comparable items before setting your price. Overpriced listings sit.

Be Honest

The Slowtwitch community values transparency. Hiding damage erodes trust and leads to returns.

Respond Quickly

Buyers often message multiple sellers. A fast reply can be the difference between a sale and a miss.

Shipping Details

Note whether the price includes shipping, if you’re willing to ship, or if it’s local pickup only.

Use Keywords

Include brand, model, size, and material in your title and description so your listing shows up in search.

Keep It Updated

If you drop the price or the item sells, update your listing right away.
