if you like sticky watts, convoluted rerouting, and overall a lack of potential data fields, then by all means this is a steal. Otherwise, for what it currently can do, I’d say it is right on par with it’s price
have there been any updates on the Dura since September to correct some of the issues reviewers like @dcrainmaker or @gplama and you noted in the respective reviews? Is this unit fully baked yet? How would people compare the Dura vs say a Edge 540 which are in a similar price range.
they did fix some of the teething issues, however, it still isnt a computer I would recommend unless you plan to go on a multi-day bikepacking trip without a battery pack
As @Jimi_Sendrix pointed out, they’ve refined a few issues since launch. iirc the last dataset I looked at had improved power data (no sticky watts).
I found the mapping is only useful at 500m zoom or closer, so it’s not all that great for free-riding in remote/forest trails. That was my last take away when out riding with the latest firmware on it. So while Coros and riders who are promoting it are always banging on about the battery life and how good that is for multi-day riding (which no doubt takes in remote areas), that selling point is mute when the mapping is crappy in those exact scenarios.
After recently using the Edge 1050, K3, Ace, and a few other units - the Dura still isn’t a computer I’ll grab for when heading out the door.
10 months post launch (I’m referring to the first launch, not the second, or the third, or whatever they claimed the launch date was). The Dura hasn’t seen any major leaps forward in function or usability that I would consider brings it on-par with other well known bike computers.
Thanks for that Shane @gplama !
