2010 Timberman 70.3

Two-time defending champion Andy Potts led from start to finish on his way to win the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Timberman. Chrissie Wellington also never trailed in this triathlon and took the title for the third time in as many attempts, just as Andy Potts had done. Plus the 3-time Ironman World Champion finished 10th overall.

For Andy Potts it was all fun and games before and after the race.

Time to get out of the water for the start even if not everybody in attendance is interested in what is going on.

Brent Poulsen was 8th out of the water and is seen here in pursuit of the leaders.

Here comes Chrissie Wellington. First out of the water and on her way to the second fastest bike split.

Dede Griesbauer got out of the water in second place and was in hot pursuit of Chrissie.

Because of her late entry, Amanda Lovato never showed up on the Athlete tracker.

South African Jacqui Gordon has been fighting with Achilles issues.

With no one else in sight, Andy Potts runs to a course record breaking win and his 3rd title here.

Chrissie Wellington is also heading towards her third Timberman 70.3 title in as many attempts.

Still in 3rd place, Dede Griesbauer is about to be passed by Heather Jackson.

No matter what the cup looks like, the sign says what you can expect.

Amanda Lovato is gliding on air here, on her way to 6th place.

A long way from home, South african Raynard Tissink crosses the line in second place with the fastest run of the day.

Timothy O'Donnell seems to be glad it is all over, but he snagged the final podium spot.

Second place for Angela Naeth today, plus she recorded the fastest bike split among the women.

Heather Jackson appears quite happy with her third place finish.

More cowbell, more cowbell.

Meanwhile lots of age groupers are still on course.

Terry Fenoff a 60 year old from PA crosses the line in 8th place for his age group in 5:35:02
