Baldellou, Cheetham win Challenge Salou Costa Daurada

Iñaki Baldellou of Spain and Susie Cheetham of Great Britain won the elite titles at Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada Sunday in Spain.

Baldellou combined the day’s-fastest 24:08 swim, 2nd fastest 2:12:25 bike leg and fastest 1:16:08 half marathon to finish in 3:52:41 with a 3:58 margin over runner-up Eduardo Antonio Lass of Brazil and 4:10 over Jonathan Ciavatella of Iraly.

Cheetham posted the women’s 2nd-fastest 30:04 swim, women’s 2nd-best 2:23:07 bike split and women’s 2nd-best 1:23:44 run to finish in 4:16:55 with a 5:41 advantage over runner-up Sara Loehr Muñoz of Spain and 7:21 over 3rd-place finisher Kirralee Seidel of Australia.
