Kahlefeldt, Heemeryck win Challenge Mallorca

Pieter Heemeryck won it with a dominating bike split and Radka Kahlefeldt did it with women’s-best bike and second best run splits at the half distance Challenge Peguera-Mallorca Saturday.

Kahlefeldt led with a women’s-best 26:31 swim, maintained it with a women’s–fastest 2:29:14 bike split and brought it home to victory with a women’s second-best 1:24:07 half marathon. Total time at the finish was 4:21:42, giving a 5:52 margin of victory over Jeanne Collonge of France and 7:17 over 3rd place finisher Lisa Hütthaler of Austria.

Heemeryck combined a second-fastest 24:29 swim split, a dazzling 2:08:52 bike split and a 3rd-fastest 1:13:02 run to finish in 3:49:57 with a 4:16 margin of victory over Thomas Steger of Austria and 6:12 over 3rd place finisher Ruedi Wild of Switzerland.
