Australian Tim Reed outraced the athlete he coaches, Sam Appleton, to win the rain-shortened Challenge Gold Coast and 22-year-old New Zealander Amelia Watkinson edged veteran Annabel Luxford.

Brown, Crawford take MetaMan

Cameron Brown won MetaMan Bintan 2014 and was rewarded $30,000 for his effort. Gina Crawford grabbed the women's title and also earned $30,000.

Hyldelund, Ryf win Copenhagen

Danish pro Henrik Hyldelund won it with a dominating 4:16:41 bike split and Brett Sutton-coached Swiss sensation Daniela Ryf used a 4:44:09 bike split to win Ironman Copenhagen
