2013 Challenge Roth – race

Beautiful weather and a massive crowd of spectators greeted the athletes at the 2013 DATEV Challenge Roth and Dirk Bockel and Caroline Steffen came away with the wins.

Bockel and Steffen terrific in Roth

Dirk Bockel destroyed the competition at the DATEV Challenge Roth on the bike and then took the win in a superb fast 7:52:01. Carolina Steffen battled Yvonne Van Vlerken most of the day but got the better of her on the run to take the women's title.

Llanos, Pedersen rule Frankfurt

Eneko Llanos had an impressive sub-8 performance at the European Ironman Champs in Frankfurt while several other favorites faltered. Camilla Pedersen ran down Jodie Swallow in her first Ironman outing and recorded a very fine sub-9 time.

Stimpson supreme at Kitzbühel

Jodie Stimpson joined Alistair Brownlee in giving the British a monopoly on gold medals on the fiendishly steep hills of the Kitzbühel WTS course; surprisingly, Stimpson had the bigger margin of victory.
