Aernouts, Spirig win Antwerp 70.3

Bart Aernouts of Belgium won the men's title while 43-year-old Luc Van Lierde took 9th; but the most notable performance was by Olympic women’s co-favorite Nicola Spirig, who crushed the women’s field at Antwerp 70.3.

Halksworth, Mullen prevail at IM UK

Daniel Halksworth of Great Britain warmed up for his first Ironman win with a DNF at IM Switzerland last week; Eimear Mullen of Ireland overcame a 17-minute deficit to pass the USA’s Amanda Stevens on the run to win Ironman UK

Densham tops Moffatt at Hamburg

Erin Densham was in top form as she outdueled fellow Australian Emma Moffatt to win the ITU World Triathlon Series sprint event at Hamburg. The USA’s Sarah Groff finished a strong 3rd.

Potts, Donavan win IM Lake Placid

Andy Potts came within 1:48 of Simon Lessing’s 2004 race record and he beat an off-form Pete Jacobs by 31:42; Jessie Donavan won comfortably over Jennie Hansen at Ironman USA Lake Placid.

Canadian Olympian Kyle Jones

Kyle Jones will be one of 5 triathletes representing Canada in London. While his qualification was at one time unsure, he has since been on a tear and won the Edmonton World Cup. He chatted with Sal Farruggia.

The final TT of the 2012 Tour

Not much changed in the final TT of the 2012 Tour De France, but there were still some very impressive displays of time trialing prowess. Eric Wynn was there to cover it.

Murray tops Gomez at Hamburg

Richard Murray of South Africa outsprinted Javier Gomez of Spain to win the Hamburg ITU World Triathlon Series sprint race Saturday and boost his stock coming into the London Olympics.
